PRESS RELEASE
On January 22, 2010, the Little Egg Harbor Police Department arrested Jonathan R. AMATO and Desiree GRIMANDO both of Windward Drive in Forked River, NJ for drug related offenses. This investigation was conducted by the Little Egg Harbor Police SIU. Seized as a result of this investigation was a quantity of Oxycontin pills with a street value of approximately $1,100. Arrested was Jonathan R. AMATO who was charged with distribution or possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance in a quantity less than one half (1/2) ounce. possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, aggravated assault on police and resisting arrest/eluding. Jonathan R. AMATO was processed and later transported to the Ocean County Jain in lieu of bail which was set by the Honorable Damian Murray, J.M.C. in the amount of $100,000 no 10% bail. Desiree GRIMANDO was charged with conspiracy to possess a controlled dangerous substance and was released on a summons pending action by an Ocean County Grand Jury. One (1) officer was injured during the arrest and was transported to the Southern Ocean County Hospital for treatment and was later released.
