Blue HOPE – The Little Egg Harbor Police Department has joined several other Ocean County Municipalities in participating in the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Blue HOPE Program. This program was created to assist individuals with an abuse disorder. Blue HOPE allows for substance abusers to turn themselves in at any of the participating police departments in order to go to an addiction services provider for treatment evaluation without any threat of charges. Individuals will be immediately screened for potential participation in the program. Residents seeking help can visit the Little Egg Harbor Police Department every Tuesday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Residents may also contact the New Jersey Addiction Services Hotline at 844-276-2777.
ON P.O.I.N.T. – The Little Egg Harbor Police Department has partnered with the On P.O.I.N.T. (Proactive Outreach In Needs and Treatment) Program, which provides for social workers on-site every Thursday at Little Egg Harbor Police Headquarters (665 Radio Road). This program was developed to address the high volume of mental health, substance abuse and social service related calls and incidents that utilize a considerable volume of police and emergency resources.
